Its the capital city. On its outskirts, in a small town, after work, he was on his way back home. With ruins of a full-day work in veins, and the dreams of a lifetime in mind.

When he was covering the darker portion of his path, two bikes came by, just hitting him. They stopped infront of him, blocking his way. Before he could open his mouth, he was kicked down to ground and they sealed his mouth with a plaster. They robbed him. When he tried to resist, they slashed him with a long knife wounding his shoulder and chest making him unconsious.

What do you think…? No, hes not dead.. hes alive and healthy by the grace of some good-hearted travellers that way.

This is not the portion from a cinema script or detective novel. Its a true story happened jus’ weeks back… And not in a Bihari slum or a mafia ruled Sicilian city…This incident occured just on our footsteps… Outside the gate of the big…one and only… TECHNOPARK.. the so called pride of Kerala. Let me give you another surprise. The law-keepers(police) was just half a Km away when this happened.

Just now, the thought hitting your mind would be the different versions of this story which has happened to any of your colleagues..Yes..its not a lone incident..!! Its happening each day to one of us.. It was him yesterday. Tomorrow it could be me or you..

Technopark is one of the prides of our small fully literate (so called) state. Its bringing a great amount of wealth to the treasury. Wonder why the authorities are keeping a closed eye to these incidents..?

Die or live, whatever.. but get the yield..!!  Are we hunting dogs or what..? Is it like this the authorities feel like..?

Its high time that we should act..or more meaningfully, REACT. Lets not pass it to fate. Its our life, our yield and our future.

Downturn…!!!

Its the time of monsoon in Kerala. The months of June and July are the times of heavy downpour. But, this year it feels like that monsoon doesn’t want to keep its name even.Well, there is something else showing a sharp downturn. Its the time for appraisals and salary increments in various IT companies. Here it is heard that the condition is worse than the monsoon. Even the high profile companies in Technopark showed a steady decrease in salary increments this year. In some of them there has been a decrease of up to 50% this year in salary increments compared to that of last year and 100% decrease in some others. This doesn’t mean any decrease in amount of work, but the performance watch is being made strict too.

The company managements say that the decrease should be read along with the increase in fuel prices and the ugly face of world economy today. But it feels like some of the companies are taking these reasons for granted and excusing themselves to reduce increments or to completely put it off.Meanwhile, there is something else showing an increse. The attrition rate. The employees are forced to join new assignments with a better payslip. The experienced ones plays it well.

Though this is a bad situation for the employees, we can console ourselves of hardly any job cut-offs in Technopark companies, like in the stories from our friends in Bangalore and Hyderabad. Or is it coming over here too…?
