Todays Market View : POSITIVE BIAS

Expect the markets to open positive in line with other Asian marketsOpen interest positions extremely light with total open interest at Rs41200 and Futures open interest at Rs34400 cr.

We met the management of Tata Steel and came back very positive on the stock . Reierate a strong buy for investments for the following reasons

Indian operations: We see upsides to our estimates driven by
1) 1.3m tons incremental hot metal production vs our estimate of 1m ton in FY09.
2) Price increase of US$200/ton coupled with savings of Rs5-6b.
3) Swapping of Yen denominated debt eliminates risk of hedging losses due to currency movements.
- Corus: Our EBITDA estimates are in-line with the guidance. We are not concerned on pension liability of Corus due to available surpluses. If company is able to acquire some iron ore projects within one year, there will be substantial savings in iron ore costs.
- Our current EPS estimates are Rs82.8 in FY08 and Rs114.3 in FY09. Stock trades at FY09 EV/EBITDA of 4.3x FY09, PE of 5.7x FY09, and EV/ton of US$777, a substantial discount to global peers. We also believe that the current pricing environment could lead to significant upgrades to our earnings estimates. If we incorporate the higher volume estimates, realisations and cost savings in Indian operations, consolidated FY09 EPS of Tata Steel works out to Rs136.3. On these estimates, stock trades at FY09 EV/EBITDA of 3.7x and PE of 4.8x.

Todays Market View : POSITIVE BIAS

Expect Indian markets to open down 1-1.5% in line with other Asian markets

Total Rollover stand at - 57% (6mth avg 62%) while Nifty Rollover stands at - 51% (6mth avg 60%)

Tatas buy Jaguar Land Rover for $2.3 bn .While the company has made a profit of ~$200million till December, 2007, the same would put considerable strain on the balance sheet of Tata Motors in the near term . Till further clarity emerges on the funding of the deal , one can avoid the stock

It is conducted by IBS software services and is an intra-company competition. And the audience comprises of only the IBS employees and few other invited guests.

Todays Market View : Positive Bias

Expect the markets to build up on yesterday’s rally. Bias remains on the positive side

An analysis of the earnings estimates for sensex companies suggest that we are looking at a 18-20% earnings growth for the 4th quarter. Earnings momentum, thus ,would be on track

Reading the fine print of the 6th pay comission report, it comes out that the limit of loans for Cental Government employees would be approx ~2x of the earlier limit. This in turn would turn out to be quite beneficial for PSU banks , as it would create a new segment of lending which would be relatively secured

Buy PSU Banks from an investment perspective . Top picks SBI and Union Bank

Buy technology stocks from a trading perspective . Top pick Infosys

and he was hit to ground…!!

Its the capital city. On its outskirts, in a small town, after work, he was on his way back home. With ruins of a full-day work in veins, and the dreams of a lifetime in mind.

When he was covering the darker portion of his path, two bikes came by, just hitting him. They stopped infront of him, blocking his way. Before he could open his mouth, he was kicked down to ground and they sealed his mouth with a plaster. They robbed him. When he tried to resist, they slashed him with a long knife wounding his shoulder and chest making him unconsious.

What do you think…? No, hes not dead.. hes alive and healthy by the grace of some good-hearted travellers that way.

This is not the portion from a cinema script or detective novel. Its a true story happened jus’ weeks back… And not in a Bihari slum or a mafia ruled Sicilian city…This incident occured just on our footsteps… Outside the gate of the big…one and only… TECHNOPARK.. the so called pride of Kerala. Let me give you another surprise. The law-keepers(police) was just half a Km away when this happened.

Just now, the thought hitting your mind would be the different versions of this story which has happened to any of your colleagues..Yes..its not a lone incident..!! Its happening each day to one of us.. It was him yesterday. Tomorrow it could be me or you..

Technopark is one of the prides of our small fully literate (so called) state. Its bringing a great amount of wealth to the treasury. Wonder why the authorities are keeping a closed eye to these incidents..?

Die or live, whatever.. but get the yield..!!  Are we hunting dogs or what..? Is it like this the authorities feel like..?

Its high time that we should act..or more meaningfully, REACT. Lets not pass it to fate. Its our life, our yield and our future.
