This is an Email that I received. I really want to know your comments.

Hi Admin,
You have been a major part of our technopark life. Hope you will not ignore this mail too, please have a look at the following.Did you come to know that the technopark rear gate(gate opens to California) will be open only from 7am to 7pm?. This is made in accordance with the new security arrangements. A wall paper proclaiming this wise decision has been placed the rear gate.

Please spare a moment to think logically. There are hundreds of people who leave their offices after 7 and make use of this gate to go to Kazhakkuttom, Ambalathinkara etc. There are many people having their accommodations in these areas. If the gate is closed they will have to get out either through the main gate or rear gate near Bhavani!!. Another option is to hire auto, but we already had many bitter experiences with auto drivers and are highly afraid of the night auto fares. People having their own vehicles can still sit not bothered about this. But there are poor people who cannot afford to have his/her own vehicles. Many techies sits up to 10pm if they have to finish urgent works, so there is an active traffic through this gate up to 10 normally everyday. For a majority this gate was quite convenient than the main gate (think of the robberies happening in the bypass road. The road from rear gate to kazhakkuttom is far better).

After all technopark is a 24 hr working place. So just think of, it is simply a bad idea to put people in trouble. There are hundreds of security men in technopark, few of them are placed in rear gate also, if they can’t assure the security then what are they meant for? This simply shows their incapability. The police are always ready to provide security for technopark, they are just a phone call away.

Any idea for how long this rule will be in effect??, if this is going to be permanent then we will have to protest against this.Atleast can we get the gate open upto 10pm..?

Please give necessary consideration to this problem from your side. We are helpless because we the technoparkians doesn’t have anybody to represent us or to fight for our rights. Are the technopark authorites not meant for ensuring the comfort of employees??

Its the time of monsoon in Kerala. The months of June and July are the times of heavy downpour. But, this year it feels like that monsoon doesn’t want to keep its name even.Well, there is something else showing a sharp downturn. Its the time for appraisals and salary increments in various IT companies. Here it is heard that the condition is worse than the monsoon. Even the high profile companies in Technopark showed a steady decrease in salary increments this year. In some of them there has been a decrease of up to 50% this year in salary increments compared to that of last year and 100% decrease in some others. This doesn’t mean any decrease in amount of work, but the performance watch is being made strict too.

The company managements say that the decrease should be read along with the increase in fuel prices and the ugly face of world economy today. But it feels like some of the companies are taking these reasons for granted and excusing themselves to reduce increments or to completely put it off.Meanwhile, there is something else showing an increse. The attrition rate. The employees are forced to join new assignments with a better payslip. The experienced ones plays it well.

Though this is a bad situation for the employees, we can console ourselves of hardly any job cut-offs in Technopark companies, like in the stories from our friends in Bangalore and Hyderabad. Or is it coming over here too…?

Thiruvananthapuram, May 28 Technopark headquartered IBS Group has signed a deal with Tokyo International Air Cargo Terminal Ltd (TIACT) for implementation of the Cargo Terminal Operations (CTO) module of iCargo, a new-generation cargo management system.
The IBS system will manage the new cargo terminal at Tokyo International Airport, also known as Haneda Airport that is ranked among the world’s busiest passenger airports.

The airport is currently undergoing a major expansion in terms of capacity and technology and is scheduled to be fully functional by October 2010.

V.K Mathews, chairman and CEO, IBS Group told reporters Wednesday that TIACT has opted for IBS’s solution to handle the entire cargo terminal operations, especially when the airport is launching a new cargo terminal.

Its been quite some time since we all began hearing about the ghost story in Karyavattom. The story was there for over 25 years. The place was a criminal hide out and ofcourse many people might have had bad experiences in the past, but not from ghosts, from real human beings.

There is another story also linked to that place. I am not sure whether its true or not. A girl was gang raped and killed in that place and her body was found in a pool some where inside the Vaidyan kunnu.

And news has been covered by manorama. Ahhh Manorama… who else covers this sort of stupidity. Anyways its now a talk of the town and we techies have one more topic to discuss over a coffee. elavil chronic itching
